ASANA INSIGHTS
Yoga Blog

Welcome to Asana Insights, the West Wind Yoga Retreat blog for yoga students, teachers, and studios. We are dedicated to providing transformative and contemporary yoga experiences relevant for the modern practitioner.

Our blog offers applicable insights drawn from the timeless, ancient wisdom of the Taoist 5 Elements.

These practical tools, guided by seasonal energies, will deepen your yoga practice, illuminate inner wisdom, reveal patterns of behavior, and help you align with the natural rhythms of the universe that transform with every season, just like we do.

Please read, enjoy, question, practice, comment, integrate, and share!

YOGA SANCTUARY RETREAT 2026

Sacred Rhythms

For Seekers of Embodied Wisdom through Practice, People, and Place.

September 27 – October 3, 2026, Rhodes, Greece

West Wind Yoga Retreats are an invitation to step into relationship with practice, with place, and with one another. Each retreat unfolds around a guiding theme that shapes daily practice and shared experiences, allowing insight to arise gradually through movement, stillness, and immersion in the land itself.

Our 2026 retreat, Sacred Rhythms, takes place in Rhodes, Greece - the Island of the Sun. It's a place where ancient pathways, living culture, and the natural elements offer a spacious setting for reflection and renewal. Here, yoga is not separate from the world around us, but woven into the days through rhythm, presence, and attention.

Retreat Experiences Includes:

  • Daily yoga practice shaped by theme and place

  • An intimate, boutique group setting

  • Time for exploration, reflection, connection, and cultural immersion

  • Yoga Alliance Continuing Education hours for certified yoga teachers

This retreat is designed for practitioners and teachers who value depth, integration, and shared inquiry — and who feel called to experience practice as something lived, not scheduled.

TESTIMONIALS

Marlena yoga teacher

Marlena Rumensky
Yoga Teacher, Steamtown Hot Yoga & Barre Studio Manager 2017-2022

"I learned so much about yoga and myself in Lara’s 200 hour teacher training and working with her for the last 6 years at her yoga studio.

Lara’s unique teaching style and encouragement has helped me to grow and be more confident not only in my yoga practice but in all aspects of my life.

Learning her meditation techniques has greatly improved my anxiety and also decreased my blood pressure.

Lara is an exceptional teacher and person, and these qualities are reflected in the yoga community she created in Scranton and in each individual that has been inspired by her in her classes, workshops and meditations."
